The Hardy Group did an excellent job in restoring our home from Hurricane Matthew. We have had smaller repairs done from Irma, and the work was every bit as good. We recommend him highly.Ray and Linda Matuza

I have done many projects with the Hardy Group, I consider them one of my favorite GC’s. Mr. Hardy runs a tight ship. Which is better for all involved.

Top 5 Benefits of Using a Design and Build Firm

Oct 06

Whether you are looking to build a brand-new office complex or simply hoping for quick construction of a small office for your business, working with an established design and building firm can have a significant impact on your overall satisfaction with the process. Essentially, the firm becomes the single point of responsibility. That means that, as an individual or developer, you will incur less risk. You may even experience a significant reduction in the time it takes to complete the project. While the traditional approach to a  building project often consists of a separate designer and contractor, when you work with a design and building firm, you can look forward to experiencing a number of benefits.

Benefit 1

When one firm is responsible for the design and construction of a commercial property, they are better able to consider all barriers and costs involved before beginning the process. This can significantly reduce the amount of conflict that often arises between designers and contractors with other building methods.

Benefit 2

Schedule management is one of the many benefits of utilizing the resources of a design and building firm for your commercial building project. With one central point of contact, schedule adjustments take place according to the scheduling needs of others working on the project simultaneously. With only a single firm handling the scheduling, a smooth and stress-free working environment benefits all parties involved.

Benefit 3

For many individuals and developers, one of the best things about working with a design and building firm is that they can relax in knowing that their entire project is in capable hands. Because both the design team and contractor have a vested interest in keeping costs as low as possible, fewer conflicts will arise. With an understanding among the parties involved that everyone is working together, you can look forward to working with a collaborative group of professionals focused solely on your project. In addition, you can experience the benefits of having a personal advocate on your side during negotiations.

Benefit 4

The expertise of a design and building firm is not limited to either construction or design, but is equally competent in both areas of a commercial building project. In addition, with the designer and contractor involved and working together on the project from the moment it begins, performance becomes a top priority. That often leads to the development of innovative ideas that can successfully deliver a superior outcome than originally planned.

Benefit 5

The nature of a design-build firm often enables even the largest commercial construction projects to move forward with only a single contract for both design and construction. Not only does this save time and money, but also it can certainly promote a smooth process from start to finish. This methodology also operates with the involvement of you, the project owner, as an active participant. Not only does this bring a higher level of personal satisfaction, but it can also greatly increase your pride in the finished project.

Regardless of your budget or the size of your commercial construction project, working with a design and building firm is a great way to get your project completed in a fast, efficient and affordable manner. The collaboration of all parties involved enables a higher and more transparent level of communication, which means less confusion throughout the process from start to finish.
