Flagler College
St. Augustine’s own Flagler College received an Outstanding Achievement – Adaptive Use award from the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation for the landmark trio of buildings that were formerly the headquarters of the Florida East Coast Railroad. The buildings were converted from office space to student residence halls.
The exteriors of the buildings remain much as they were in Henry Flagler’s era, with the same architectural details and features; the exception is the additions of secondary fire egress and handicapped accessibility ramps.
The Hardy Group is proud to have renovated these buildings, once in 2001 for the Florida East Coast Railroad, and then in 2007, converting two of three buildings into dormitories for Flagler College.
